The Milky Way

As a genre of photography, shooting the night sky is in many ways a technical endeavor, the artistry comes with the foreground. Yet, the real reason I love Milky Way photography is that it always takes you to a beautiful location in the middle of the night and other than your companions, you’re there alone.
Trees

I am fascinated with trees. They are living metaphors for life. They have a random, fractal nature, yet are each uniquely identifiable.
Walk

I’ve been a hiker all my life, but I’ve only begun to walk distances in the past few years. Perhaps I had to age a bit to appreciate slowing down.
Schooner

Coming soon
Schooners are some of the most beautiful sailing craft in the world. I have been fortunate to spend time crewing and sailing upon these amazing vessels. I love traditionally rigged sailing vessels, the smell of pine tar, the sound of manila line running through wooden blocks, and the feel of canvas when you furl the sails at the end of the day.
Memory Series

This series of photographs was inspired by the idea of what would a memory look like if you could photograph it as we see it in our minds. What details would hold, which do we lose?
Canoe

Coming soon
Canoes have been a part of my life for a very long time. I love the places they take me—down whitewater rivers, over a glassy pond, along the shores of large lakes, and occasionally upon the ocean. But canoes are much more than that, they have given me some of my dearest friends. Friendships built upon a mutual love of canoesport.
I love the form of a canoe, it is in itself a thing of great beauty. A form that is as functional as any watercraft ever devised. A well made canoe is as beautiful as a schooner or a clipper ship, and I love schooners and clipper ships so I don’t say this lightly.
